Acquisition Marketplace Review - The Journal of Applied M & A Theory

MoneySoft and the Association for
Corporate Growth form Marketing Alliance

M&A is not just a game played in plush boardrooms between corporate titans. The truth is that mergers and acquisitions are more prevalent on Main Street than Wall Street with the vast majority receiving little, if any, media attention. Although M&A activity is down from the records set in 2000, M&A continues to be an important strategy for growth and the creation of shareholder value.

Everyone has a stake in successful mergers and acquisitions. Jobs, customer service, stock values and innovation all hang in the balance. A smart deal creates value, but over half fail to deliver the anticipated economic benefits. In some cases value is actually destroyed.

The Association For Corporate Growth and MoneySoft are announcing a strategic partnership aimed at helping mid-sized companies make more successful acquisitions.

Founded in 1954, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) is the premier association for and about professionals involved in middle-market corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions. It promotes the professional interests of its members, who have assumed leadership roles in strategic corporate growth by offering a forum for quality programs, education and networking. ACG has nearly 5,500 members representing approximately 2,500 companies in 36 chapters throughout the United States, Canada, the UK and Mexico.

MoneySoft was established in 1991 and is a leading provider of software that navigates the complex process of evaluating, valuing, structuring and financing an acquisition. The software supports sound decision making by helping to quantify the economic impact of alternatives presented throughout the negotiation and due-diligence process. The Company also provides a free online journal (www.mergerdigest.com) that provides hands-on information for successful dealmaking.

MoneySoft’s most recent technology, called DealSense™, offers buyers and advisors of small and mid-cap companies robust acquisition analysis, valuation and financial modeling, and executive-level presentation.

Under the terms of the agreement, the ACG will be able to offer the DealSense™ software to its members at a savings and use the content from MoneySoft’s www.MergerDigest.com website. MoneySoft will promote the ACG on its website and to its customer base.

“ The alliance with the ACG is a good fit,” says Robert B. Machiz, MoneySoft’s president. “We both serve the same people and the ACG does a great job providing education and networking opportunities for their growing membership. The ACG looks at the entire corporate development process and our software accelerates the financial decision making process.”
